My new desktop..Spent half a day creating this look. So what's new? See those icons on top? Those aren't normal icons. They're called docklets, and the whole bar, which I've set to transparent is called a docklet (I think those are the appropriate terms). It's like an advanced version of icons allowing you to customize the looks and the animation when you mouse over them. Pretty cool huh? Plus it keeps my desktop tidy.. so that's a huge plus!

Other cool things you can do with it include adding docklets which show the ram, memory usage and space left, a calendar, weather forecast etc :)

Post New Year post~

Nothing much happened the last couple of days, except for the fact that I did get my ass outta my room to enjoy some New Year festives with my buds.

I think it was on the night of the 30th..I jogged to Farah's house and off we went to George Street to witness a clash of cultures from all around Europe. Here's a brief quote I got from Redzuan which actually got my ass outta my room!

"The Night Afore ‘Monster Ceilidh' on Sunday 30 December will be an eclectic mix of music, street theatre, storytelling and giant (but friendly!) monsters from throughout Europe."

We were a little late for the celebration and midway through, we had to send Farah's friends off to somewhere, but most of what we did see were great! I'm not really in the mood to write a few gazillion words to explain what happened that night..my karangan days are over, so! I'll let the pictures and videos do the talking from here on, enjoy..

A new post?? No way!

Yes way! Ha..Well.. To all my readers..if there are any.. I'm not gonna apologize shit cause I did mention I was taking a break from blogging. Heck, I was even thinking of abandoning this responsibility if not for these 2 reasons:

1. I woke up with a hellish neck pain (growing old?..nah) most probably due to over-gaming, over-reading and over-stretching to get taller..hahaz..yea, I'm that childish and thus.. I have nothing or should I say..I can't do anything too strenuous

2. and to a lesser extent..A friend of mine threatened to delete the link to my blog if I proclaimed it dead..

Anyway..some insanely humongous updates on my recent self..

My holidays started roughly 2 weeks ago, and I haven't done a wee bit(local folk accent XP) of studying since then.. The following morning after the exams, I woke up with a completely blank mind. It's hard to describe really..it's like waking up and asking the council in my head, alright guys, buckle up, what's the first thing on the list..................still processing..............nothing!
There is that big a contrast between my normal, busy U days and the holi-days!

So yea..ever since then, I've been doing nothing but eat sleep shit and the occasional gaming and exercising. To prepare for the coming lonely Christmas, I even spent a little on some games. Check out these babes:

Got them for a real bargain too! I have not played the latter yet but man..ninja gaiden sigma was full of awesomeness. From a reliable source (Kee Fong), this series used to be X-box exclusive and it's on par with the PS' Devil May Cry series. Just hearing that made me itchy all over. So yea..bought it..played it..still playing it..2 words, it OWNS! I have to try real hard to stop playing it so I have more time to finish my FFL(check previous posts for this).

Which way do you see her spinning? The direction you see her can determine what side of your brain you use most often. If it looks like she's spinning clockwise, you mostly use the right side of your brain, the creative side. If she's spinning counter-clockwise, you use the left side, the logical side. Some people can see her spinning both ways.

Just finished a run-through for e-drug calculation self-assessment practice, which my friend Ridzuan so happily reminded me of. Not bad..very cool stuff. My mind has never been this occupied on a task since...since I got here..yea(except for the occasional gaming sessions XP). Anyway, this e-drug is a web based self assessment test for us medical students created by yours truly(not me) the University of Edinburgh. It helps train us on drug dosage calculations, which includes lots of unit conversion and interchanging between moles, concentrations and etc.

The above post was meant to be posted erm...5 days ago?..haha..was really busy and couldn't find the time to do it. Typical excuse for anyone who doesn't update often huh?

Anyway, I guess now I know a little about why friends and relatives will always try to rain it on me saying that I'm bound to miss being back in Malaysia. It's just so hard for me to admit it..yea..I miss malaysia, the food, badminton(very much!!), friends, family, the Unser(my 2nd trusty wife), and..did I mention food?..yea..laksa..yummmm and lastly..the short holidays I look forward to whenever things get messy and stressful..You just can't get look forward to any holidays here cause they're just so far far far far.....away...but the good thing is they're long though :)

It's been working quite well for me lately..I'm kinda getting the hang of PBL. Managed to finish my essay. Special thanks to my friends Yan Mei and Ridzuan for checking and commenting on them. It looks a lot more decent when I've changed it in accordance with others point of view. Having my exams next week..freaking Arghhh!!! Though, I heard from some of my friends saying that they heard from their seniors(medic) saying that the mock exam won't be marked by the prof's. We'll have to mark it ourselves once we've sat for it..so I'm kinda like..more relieved..NO!><..I must work work work..competing with the best here..all smartasses..I mustn't slack off!

Well..since this post is kinda like a delayed post of what I wanted to post a few days earlier..Might as well tell you guys about some of the funny situations I had erm.. the last week with the Lothian Bus company.

It was a wednesday if I'm not mistaken. Not a very good day if I recalled. I had a lecture slotted in the middle of the day(11.10-12.00) and the rest of the day off. I was just perplexed as to why they can't slot it in the other days so we can have the wednesday off. So I decided to perk up my spirit by treating myself to some old fashioned good junk food from KFC. Yay!.. I ordered the Zinger meal(zinger burger+coke+fries)-old fashion chronic pulmonary disease and fattening method. What the heck..once in a blue moon right?

So..I decided to feast on the meal back in Pollock Halls. Not a good idea. When I tried to board the Lothian Bus 14(Lothian-one of the bus companies, proclaimed to be the best bus company 2006..not gonna be for 2007 though :P..not if I can help it) back to the halls, the bus driver just stopped me and pointed at my drink, and blatantly showed me the No-drinks sign. I was like..WTFBBQ?..The bus driver apparently hasn't seen people eating at the upper part of the bus(it's a double decker..yea). An old lady before me was kind enough to persuade the bus driver for me..Couldn't he just put it in his bag or something?..Thanks mam'. I just smiled and stepped outta the bus. So..ok..I just placed my drink in the plastic bag and waited for the next bus to come.
Guess what..when I boarded the next bus..the guy pointed to the plastic bag..said "sorry son..", I asked "Can i just stuff it in my bag or something?..I'm not gonna eat it on the bus dufus!(dufus said mentally)".."Sorry son..people's been complaining..it smells.." *************(insert any profanities you find fit)..alright..fine..I just stepped outta the bus with an even worse mood than when the day had begun..

I waited for the next bus..and being the smart aleck that I am..I put the whole KFC meal into my bag..(not smart). I boarded the bus..smiled..placed my bus card on the card reader and passed the check up. Good acting eh? By the time I reached my room..things got really messy and wet..Why?..well..remember the coke that came with the meal? I really wished I didn't order it. I'd have just gotten the burger and the fries if it wasn't for the persuading skill of the waiter/receptionist.

All hell broke loose..I tell ya..all my notes got wet,stained..my references got mushy..my pencil case ..sticky ..and erm..sweet..My bag looks like it's wet itself..On top of that..have you tried Cola Burger before?..yea..I think you get the point. It's spicy, salty..and sweet..talk about a killer meal eh?
All because I wanted to enjoy my meal with a little anime! Great!

Anyway..yesterday.. I tried the same stunt again. Haha..yea..I'm a slow learner. This time however, I requested an extra plastic bag from the lady serving me. Smart no?....



Nooo......

Haha..I'm gonna try using triple layer plastic bags next time..

Oh..btw..I don't think I'll be posting much from now on..pretty much never..Have to start making changes in my life!..I can't fail now..not after what I've been through..my 12 years of schooling that is..

A-Level? - Good luck people!..I feel your pain!!(special shout out to the 3 vincent's angels..LOL..Vun Jar, sue anne and Liam see wai- Fail and you owe me breakfast lunch and dinner the next time I go back for summer)

Well..I think I'm just gonna crap a bit in this post to fill in the space. Basically telling everyone, I'm fine(especially you Dad :) ). Being overseas is just like camping out for a really really long time and eventually you'll learn to love it and wish you don't have to go back home :) Cool eh?..

Let's start off with the good news bad news thing alright?
Bad News:

1. Each and every Yr 1 Medics is given an essay assignment...HOOORAYY!!!..everyone loves essay no?(fyi..I'm being sarcastic here). And no..that's not all of it..not everyone gets the same essay topic. If you're part of the 5% in the population who're blessed by the Deity of Luck and given everything a soul like me would give millions for(height , charm, kachiing kachiing $$)..then blast you!
I, no matter how much I don't want to be..am categorized under the 95% of the population. Guess what my topic is about..hint hint - long beard, bombs, Bin Laden?..

That's right..they just somehow had to give me an essay assignment on Bioterrorism and Biological warfare. Hey, at first I thought it was gonna be fun..I mean..the rest of my friends got essays like..ion channels, pharmacology and shit..and I get to research into anthrax..biological bombs and stuff! When I looked at the reference provided..I just went..OMFBBQ!! The "so-called references" are like 16 pages each, "referencing" on stuff like history, which country used Bioweapons..which country didn't..what agreement was made to not use bio weapons..and which countries disagree. When it came to the interesting part - Bio weaponry..all that was mentioned are the microbes that are used and vague references to countermeasures being made. I mean..where's the BOMB!!???..where's all the Bio shotgun and shit I see in the PS3 game Fall of Man??..sigh..at least give me something to write about?

P.S..I'm just half way through btw, so..hopefully..HOPEFULLY..there'd be something more interesting..I'm not asking too much am I?

2. I just feel out of it these days. Friends would just come and ask me stuff and I would just answer with a one-word reply..yes/no..yeah..ok.. I guess that's what you get for getting the worst essay and having no idea how to make it look decent. The essay's been occupying my mind for these few days..Sorry People!

3. A mock exam's coming up!..YAY!..as if the essay wasn't enough to make us scream for help..the lecturers thought it might be fun to watch us walk on lava while balancing a ball on our head.

And now on to the good news!

1. my modded PS2 is here!..YAY(for real)..Finally, I can embark on my long dreamed Final Fantasy Legacy. What's THE Final Fantasy Legacy? Well, it's just a term I made up for the task of completing all the Final Fantasy's title. Being the FFF(Final Fantasy Freak) that I am..I never really completed any Final Fantasy titles before and mind you..I have my reasons. I did manage to complete FFX-international BUT not COMPLETELY if you know what I mean. I've done all the side quests, all the ultimate weapons obtained and their power's unlocked, all stats maxed to 255, and I even got to open up the 12 chests in Omega Ruins(took me 5 days). It's just those freaking Dark Aeons that stood in my way of 100% completion. I have maxed out attributes(doing 99999 damage on every hit) and I still can't scratch some of the stronger dark aeons. Oh well..let's put all those in the past! Everything's set in motion now :)

2. hmmm...I can't think of number 2...hmmm..thiiinnkkingg hard...
Nope..nope..just no Number 2..See what I mean about me being part of the 95% of the population ?
